from me:  This sequel to I am Number Four is full of action, plot twists and strong new characters.  We open with the winsome voice of Seven, who goes by the name of Marina and is living in a convent run orphanage for girls in Spain.  While Marina’s Cêpan has abandoned their mission and refused to prepare her for her legacy, Marina has been searching the internet for the Garde and dealing with her legacies on her own.  Marina is lonesome, and dreaming of the day she turns 18 so she can leave the orphanage to search for the others.

We alternate between Marina’s story and John, Sam and Six’s story.  John, Sam and Six are on the road, trying to avoid the law and training with Six.  While John is still in love with Sarah, he realizes he is attracted to Six – which is a problem, since Sam has a big crush on Six as well.  Six has a powerful personality, and I enjoyed hearing more of Six’s backstory.  We also got to know Sam a lot better, and his father’s role in the Lorien history on Earth.

Going back and forth between stories was a nice change, and the stories were woven together quite well.  Ah, Mr. Pittacus Lore, you are quite a writer!  (see below)

Simone is awesome. We wanted to talk to her forever and then have drinks because somehow we think it would be non-stop laughs with her if we had said drinks, but we had to let her go (sigh) so she could go work on edits for CHAIN REACTION.

Recently, as in last Thursday, we teamed up with Mundie Moms to interview authors Veronica Roth, Ellen Schreiber, Tara Hudson, Amy Plum & Aprilynne Pike – who were part of the Dark Days of Supernatural Tour.

Yep, I was a little star struck and may have had a fan girl moment or two. I mean, come on, look who was there…Roth, Pike, Schreiber and newcomers Hudson and Plum!!  Needless to say I felt rather inadequate and mundane around them.

But never fear friends, I was able to pull off my best Kelly Rippa impersonation and asked the tough questions like Peeta or Gale,  Harry Potter or LOTR and the toughest of them all, bikini or one-piece.

There are no words to describe the hole that is left by your recent departure. We tried writing a farewell post, but it was sappy; we tried our hand at an acrostic poem, but we didn’t like what it spelled out.  In the end, the only way we could adequately express our feelings was through video.

No, not a Britany Spears song, we’ve recovered a “lost” video. We’ve had this video for awhile and it was, uh, er, buried in a massive slush of videos. Really.

As you can tell, Shannan’s interviewing skills were top notch. Notice the hair toss in the beginning and the lapse of recall towards the end. Charles was a trooper, he played it off like it was just a normal day in the office. By the way, you should go buy his book.
