We interrupt our normal programming for this…
Earlier in the year I stumbled upon YA author Amy Kathleen Ryan’s (GLOW) blog and her post that day was about writing a love story in twenty words. Of course, as fledgling writers Nancy and I took the challenge. It was a fun and creative, albeit constricting, way to tell a story. I personally liked the parameters (I’m a rules type of girl) and have thought about that post ever since.
Following in the same vein I thought it would be fun to have our own challenge. You know, something that would tickle the brain and get the creative juices flowing. Heck, it might even cause a good chuckle or two.

CHALLENGE: Eight-Word Story*
My eight-word story: She loved him. He loved her. Together forever.
My other eight-word story: Loneliness led to infidelity. Divorce led to renewal.
So, if you’re up for a good time, want to impress your neighbor in the next cubicle over, or you need a good time suck, then we throw the gauntlet down….
*Just eight words. No more, no less. Leave story in the comments.

The train to work. Their eyes met. Attraction.
The despair of empty arms became joyfully filled.
Failure stung, but with it came insight’s success.
Sparks flew, he knew she was the one!
“You say true love isn’t real. Prove it.”
Hidden dagger. Shaded final kiss. Revenge at last.
Great eight-word stories y’all!!
Eyes meet. Girl has root-beer. Boy has ice-cream.
Target line. Bat eyelashes. Quick smile. Check out.
