BLESSED character interview w/ Zachary & GIVEAWAY!

Blessed, the last installment in the modern gothic trilogy (of sorts) by Cynthia Leitich Smith is officially released today. If you haven’t read the first two books Tantalize or Eternal, you should. They’re good. So is Blessed.

Our reviews can be found here, here and here, respectively. Also, you can find our interview with Cynthia  here.

Today we have Zachary (one of our favorite angels) stopping by and he’s being gracious enough to answer a few of our questions.

Hey Zachary, glad to see you’re back in Texas.

Great to be back! I missed the amazing, self-proclaimed quirky weirdness of Austin.

To start us off we have some quick, fun questions…we just want to know you better.

-  favorite place to be? Rooftops. I like to be up high, and I can’t risk showing off my wings unless absolutely necessary.

- strong mind or strong body? Can I split the difference?

- the last song you listened to? “Fate of Faith” by Julie Cruise

- favorite color? Blue. It’s the color of Miranda’s eyes and one of the signature colors of heaven.

What was your reaction/thoughts the first time you saw Quincie?
It was like Little Orphan Annie had grown up without a clue that she’d become a total cutie. It was all I could do not to adopt her as a little sister right off. I know Kieren looks and sees something else—the woman she’s becoming. But what I felt from the start was protective.

With that said, how is it working for her at her restaurant, Sanguini’s? We hear you’re a pretty suave waiter.
I could do without the vampire theme. I lost my girl Miranda to vampirism for a while, and that shattered my heart.

But I admit, it’s kind of a kick to dress up and take in the sheer spectacle of it. Plus, how many people get to serve West Texas rattlesnake ravioli marinara or chocolate-covered crickets?

Two words, flaming sword. How cool do you feel with that thing and did you have to take a lot of classes to learn how to use it?
I would probably feel cooler if I had taken classes to use it. Mostly, I’m moving on instinct. That’s a strategy that probably works better for shape-shifters than us angels.

Finally, since we are a book blog we gotta know, what are some of your all time favorite books?
For some 17 years, I was mostly reading over Miranda’s shoulder. But I like Tolkien, Watersmeet by Ellen Jensen Abbot, and A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn.

Thanks for stopping by Zachary, it was fun!
