Fans of Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush, Hush series have a new nugget to chew on, book three, formerly known as Tempest, has a new name!
SILENCE!!!!
What a fitting title for the book (you can read her explanation here). And, this may be a complete rumor, but we heard that this may not be the last book in the series, hmmm….
Who is dying to see how gorgeous the cover will be for Silence? We for sure are!
So, get your pre-orders done because come October, we will be busy reading Silence and we will want to talk about it. For more information on this series check out the official Hush, Hush fansite, FallenArchangel.

I think that is an awesome title, those two kids deserve a little SILENCE after CRESCENDO.
For the record I’m still mad at Patch and Nora about all the drama in CRESCENDO that the Silence is from me not talking to them.
Love it!
@Cari, you make me laugh!!
I. Can’t. Wait.
Seriously I loved the first one but the second one broke my heart.
Will this book be as jam packed with slut-shaming, stalking and borderline abuse dressed up as true love as the first two books? Why does nobody talk about how horrific these books are? Attempting to murder someone isn’t sexy! A psychotic, pervert stalker and attempted murder is not some sexy bad boy!
@Pandora – not sure what you mean by slut-shaming, but as far as stalking and abuse go…did you read CRESCENDO?
I like this new title a lot better – it fits really well with the previous books. And now I’m wondering just what that title *means* for the storyline. Intriguing.
@stacy:
With slut shaming I mean the way Marcie is always referred to by way of her sexuality – she’s called a ho, she’s referred to as always offering sexual favours to boys, she dresses promiscuously and all of this is contrasted to how pure and ‘better’ Nora is because Nora doesn’t do all those things and that makes her a better person for it. The only way Fitzpatrick could think of to make Marcie an antagonist was to make her a ‘slut’ and use a teenage girls’ sexuality as a way to condemn her and that’s disgusting.
As for the topic of abuse – none of the things Patch does in Hush Hush are excusable. He sexually harasses her in class (the biology scene), he makes lewd comments to her, he constantly makes her feel uncomfortable which Nora tells us about several times, he stalks her, he treats her like dirt and in one scene he holds her down on a bed and talks about how easily he can kill her! And this is all excused because he’s a ‘bad boy.’ No, just no. None of that should be seen as a good thing and none of it should be excused just because they end up together in the end. It’s insulting, it’s creepy and it’s just down right wrong. This stuff was creepy enough when romance authors did it in the 80s, having someonr write it into a supposed romance for teens is worrying. I’m pretty offended that as a young person I’m supposed to relate to these books.
@Pandora – I think you mean Nora’s best friend Vee, not Marcie as the “slut,” Marcie is just mean. I understand your points, however I see Vee as someone who is exploring her sexuality. Maybe she is there to be Nora’s antithesis, but I don’t believe she is exploiting her to make Nora seem angelic.
As for the stalking issue, yes that was very apparent in Hush, Hush and your points are valid.
