And let us not forget that was a SEVEN figure deal…
that’s a lot of figures…
Exactly! That is a lot figures, especially for a debut writer.
I read all the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” books and enjoyed them very much. Percy, like Harry Potter has a universal appeal. I’m not sure Greek Tragedy will catch universal attention but I will read them with interest when they come out.
@Aunt Carla, ashamed to admit I have read only the first Harry Potter and none of the Percy Jackson books. I think I will read this new series though, the premise sounds interesting, plus the publisher is putting a lot of faith in the new writer.
@Stacy The first Harry Potter was not the best of JK Rowling’s tale, by the 3rd book I was committed to Harry, Ron & Hermione and by the 6th & 7th book I actually cried as characters died. Percy Jackson is a great read. Very interesting and full of action. I loved the books and was very disappointed in the movie.
Hi Aunt Carla!! I loved the Percy movie but didn’t read the books. If you don’t read them, the movies always seem good. I am almost always disappointed in movies if I read the novels first. That is why I refuse to read Eclipse for the umpteenth time so close to when the movie is to be released. I don’t want it fresh in my mind and be disappointed. I have to separate myself from what I pictured while reading and someone else’s interpretation of the same book who is trying to sell tickets and action dolls (ha!).
Someday I will read Harry. I will. Someday…
Now off to read about fairies, <3 Shannan
