It’s official! Lisa McMann’s Wake Trilogy is likely to be made into a movie. Paramount Pictures and MTV Films have picked up the film rights. Miley Cyrus is considering the lead character, Janie who gets sucked into dreams.
What do I wonder about all of this? I’ll tell you. Who is going to play the ultra awesome, gorgeous Cabe?

Great trilogy. I read each one in a day. I’m pretty excited to see this made into a movie, but I’m literally begging, please cast someone besides Miley Cyrus. She’ll ruin this whole darn thing. She just not edgy enough to be Janie. I know she’s trying to break out of her Disney shell and all, but this is not the role for her

I pretty sure anyone who has read the books HATES Miley Cyrus as Janie…the best actress i’ve seen proposed for the role right now is Alexa Vega!
@Dara – WOW! I had seen her in all the Spy Kids movies but didn’t realize she had grown up so much. She looks beautiful and real. That would be an interesting choice and one I would support!
Miley should NOT act in ANY movie. She was horrible in The Last Song. She needs some serious training. What she can get away with on a small screen in a show aimed at tweens did not go over with me when I had to pay $10 to see her.
@Angel – I haven’t nor intend to see The Last Song mainly b/c she is in it. I have to admit I like watching Hannah montana with my kids along with a lot of other tween shows but do not want to see her in a serious movie. She is not genuine to me. Hair extensions, perfect manicure, tan, etc…does not make a tragically poor, mature, drunkin’ mother, reclusive father, mostly abandoned Janie. Serioulsy, a big name does not equal a right choice. UGH! I am just so over this stupid Miley casting and probably will not go see the movie if she is in it. Glad to see I am not the only one who feels this way. ON TO A LIGHTER NOTE; Who should play Cabel?

I loved the books, they were amazing! I love the storyline and think it would make a great film, especially since the movie genre of fantasy/supernatural is so popular right now. But if Miley Cyrus is cast as the lead role I will not watch the film. She is a terible actress and she annoys me, she will ruin a great movie.

I will cry as well if Miley is cast. I am a newbie to the books, near finishing Fade. Miley can NOT pull off Janie. At all. If they cast her, it would be a HUGE mistake and disappoint so many fans of the books. I hope they realize that.

@shannanharrington-wow i cant believe your a mother of kids and complaining about Mileys acting. Your saying that you will never see a movie that she is in. You didn’t even see the last song and that was the first actual movie she was in. If you didn’t see it how can you judge her acting. She wasn’t that bad in the movie and you would know that if you saw it. Anyway…my point is that I’m 17 and even I don’t say that Im not going to see a movie just because someone (who ive never even seen act…and im not talking about just watching hannah montana) is in a movie. If you didn’t say you were a mother…I would have thought you were 12…because thats how your acting. YOUR supposed to be the adult, and your kids will act the same way…if you want that then continue being the 12 year old. wow and adults think were the immature ones.

You have to know that I love this series so much, I want someone who can be as deep as Janie. She is broken, poor, and having to be the adult in a isolating household. So, you can understand why I would rather see an unknown actress or someone who isn’t so pretty. You are right again. I didn’t see the Last Song probably because I don’t get to see movies very often. I actually stopped reading People magazine, stopped checking out Perez Hilton, and other such gossip mags after I realized that I don’t want to know anything about the personal lives of celebrities. It ruins the characters for me when I see the movies. I don’t want to judge them on what they do in their personal lives. However, Miley is front and center on all media, and no matter how much I shouldn’t judge her. I do. I just do. I hope she does a wonderful, breath taking job in the movie so I can eat my words. Hopefully with some hot fudge on top.

I read all of the books fell in love with them. My friend has me still hooked on them. idk if they made a movie about them yet, but they should. these books do kinda remind me about an everyday life of a teenager. i’ve read twiligh books. and i can honestly say these books are way more exciting. i stayed up late for a whole week thinking about what would happen next. i was supprised.
Alexa Vega would be the best choice as Janie. I mean Miley doesn’t have that idk how to put it. She would just mess up the entire movie. And Cabel sounds like he would be played by Taylor Lautner. I mean come on he is hot. and the way the book descrides him, is being hot. Even all my friends say Taylor Lautner would be a good choice as Cabel.:)
