review: The Reapers are the Angels by Alden Bell

I just read my first zombie book! Yep, you read right and the crazy thing is that I had no idea that this book was even about zombies.

Here’s the deal, if you were to take a Stephen King book and water it down to some two-hundred odd pages and keep to one main character the end product would be this book. Temple is a young girl, an unlikely but likely hero. She is as tough as nails on the outside but doughy soft on the inside. A real loner, with a panache for finding trouble and the quirkiest of  people, who is trying to survive the new world running rampant with earth’s new inheritors…slugs, meatskins.

This book was okay. It didn’t push any of my hot buttons, though Temple did earn some “you go girl” endorsements from me.

…and that folks wraps up what I have to say about the book. Yea, I know not much. I will add this, the ending was poetic, sad but poetic.

If you like zombie, doomsday type books, then this one should fit quite nicely in your STACKS.

I give this book 3 STACKS

See you in the STACKS,
Stacy

  1. Zombie books I’ve read recently: Pride and Predjudice and Zombies; Zombies vs Unicorns; The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
