Book Review: Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz

deadly little secretReading this book in the middle of the night in an empty house, not a good idea. At least for me it wasn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, it is not a slasher book. I would call it a thriller mystery, one that made me too scared to get up to get a drink of water.

Camelia is just an ordinary teenager with an ordinary life, until the day Ben saves her life. After Ben saves her she is still ordinary, but Ben (creepily) warns her that her life is in danger. She then starts receiving weird letters and photos. She has a stalker. Just who is stalking her? Could it be Ben? He is a mystery, with a rumored gruesome past and secrets of his own. Yet, she is strangely attracted to him. Could it be her 25-year-old boss Spencer, who is getting to close? Her ex-boyfriend Matt, who is jealous of her time spent with Ben? Or her friend Wes who has a secret crush on her? Think you know?

This book does a great job of throwing suspicions one way and then throwing them the opposite way. Really, it has you guessing right up till the end.

Overall, this is a good mystery/suspense with no vampires in sight, yet laced with paranormal activity.

I give this book 3 out of 5 STACKS

FYI: the next book in the series is Deadly Little Lies, and is available now.
