review: The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead

THIS IS THE BOOK WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Feel free to quote me on that.

SYDNEY: This girl has seriously grown. One of the things I like the most was that her change wasn’t instant; it had to grow overtime and evolve. Her beliefs were so ingrained that her character arc had to span several books. In THE INDIGO SPELL, we see her finally accepting a few things about her self and pulling further away from the Alchemists. I like that she questions things, and isn’t easily swayed – think Marcus Finch.

ADRIAN: This playboy is one of my favorite YA characters. I think it comes down to him not being the typical hottie that always saves the day. He has many vices, but his charm, charisma and humor – they slay me. One of my fave things from him in this book is “Alpha Yam Argo,” it’s priceless.

SYDRIAN: YES. YES. YES. This is the book we’ve been waiting for. I read every one of *those* scenes three times. Passion was HOT. I hear that THE FIERY HEART is even more intense. Let me just say, “BRING IT RICHELLE!”

CASTILE: I like Castile so much for a secondary character.  I love how one minute he can be on, and the next be normal, relaxed. I’m hoping the next spin-off will be told from his POV. He might always be referenced as a mini-Dimitri, but I assure you he has his own flare as a dhampir

MALACHI WOLFE: This guy is pure golden comic relief. Let’s face it, any guy who has an eye patch and a gang of killer Chihuahua is a win. He definitely shines in THE INDIGO SPELL and second only to Adrian for the best quotable lines.

MARCUS FINCH: Marcus was a bit of a let down, high ideals and drive but little follow through. I’m sure we will see more of him, because I foresee Sydney calling on him and his gang for help.

XOXO, Stacy
(who needs THE FIERY HEART soon. very soon.)
